Galen Strole, MSW
Social Worker
Mountains are climbed one step at a time.
Congratulations on completing the first step in your journey to healing for you and your family.
I know it is difficult to reach out for help, and you should be proud of yourself for taking that step.
I’m here to help.
How I Work
Each family is unique, and I consider the whole family situation as well as the issues bringing you here.
I utilize techniques of Play Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and other modalities as necessary based on individual and family needs.
I am confident that my flexible counseling style can provide perspective to help strengthen your understanding of your situation and strategies to help you and your family navigate any rough patches you are experiencing.
Most of all, I will ensure you know you are not alone, and we will get through things together.
It takes a village.
Experience
I have 13 years of experience as a School Social Worker helping children with social-emotional and behavioral issues navigate the school experience. I have worked with children ages three and up with varying levels of ability and issues ranging from autism to ADHD, anger, anxiety, and depression. I also have training in substance abuse counseling.
I specialize in working with preschool and early elementary-age students through play and various research-based interventions. I also enjoy helping youth of any age reach their potential through a client-centered approach focusing on the perspectives of the individual and the family.
Outside of the Office
I live with my wife and two children, ages 11 and 13. This gives me a behind-the-scenes view of child development and an understanding of the parental perspective.
I love nature, aquariums, and gardening. My interest in nature also helps influence my practice as I try to help find the most natural path to a solution.
