Jessica Born, MSW, LSW
Licensed Social Worker
At times, we find ourselves longing for more.
More happiness. More connection. More fulfillment.
But we often struggle to attain it, despite our best efforts.
I want to help you understand the dynamics in your life and relationships and develop the tools and insight to create meaningful change.
It takes courage to begin the hard, messy work of healing.
But the benefits are so worth it.
You are so worth it!
How I Work
Our meetings are a judgment-free zone where you can be seen, heard, and understood.
Come as you are and feel free to be your most authentic self. If you aren’t sure who that is or what you want, but your discomfort tells you you’re ready for change, that’s okay.
I will provide a safe space – one that is trauma-informed, body peace/HAES-oriented, anti-racist, and LGBTQIA2S+ affirming – with lots of support to help you figure it out.
You’ll leave our time together with a greater understanding of yourself and how to create what you want.
Experience
I have an MSW with an Advanced Clinical concentration in Mental Health from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I’ve worked in the healing field supporting individuals and families for over 15 years.
I employ an eclectic personalized treatment approach to meet each client’s needs.
My certifications are in Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Domestic and Sexual Violence Counseling, and Level 2 trained in Gottman Couples Therapy.
Outside of the Office
I love what I do, so I’m forever reading about the latest research and techniques.
As a wife and mother, I understand the joys and challenges of marriage and parenting and the importance of boundaries and balance.
For me, that includes time outdoors, travel, joyful movement (hiking, dancing, swimming), and making space for laughter and adventure.
I’d be honored to help you cultivate systems of care that honor your unique needs, personality, and relationships.
